Default SunL 70 problem

Curious if anyone else has had a problem yet. Last weekend, I was washing the quads up and went to fire them up before putting them away. One started fine, the other wouldn't?? Checked all the connections and they appeared to be OK. I got the compressor out and blew off all the fittings. I got it fired up but it is now missing. Is there any known issue with the coil or some other electrical module going out? I checked the tether and it is hooked good as well. I just don't want to start buying electrical parts to try and fix it. I'm not a velcro mechanic. As a side note, the tailight is not sealed. I dried it out and put some silicone around it to keep the moisture out.

How hard did you wash them? Did you use a presure washer or just soap and water from a bucket?

what you need to do is take all the plastic off and take di-electric grease and put some in each connectors to prevent corroison, then cover the whole connector with liguid electrical tape, making sure the wires are completely covered going into the connectors, also the back side of the ignition switch, wal-mart has the liquid electrical tape in the boating dept. this was made exactly for this purpose, cost is $6.00, the di -electric grease is at any auto parts store, sometimes called tune-up grease. a little time now , and once everything is water tight will prevent this ever happening again, after this you can pressure wash them without a problem

The thing is, it has sat for 3 weeks so it is quite dry now. The problem still exist's, not just when I wash it. So the question is are there any known issue's with any of the electrical component's on these quads? Maybe the water shorted something?? As I said, it runs, but is missing badly down low. The start/stop button works fine as well as the starter button. I sent SunL a email but am not betting on getting a response anytime soon.

first off all forget about sunl getting back to you, they won't and could care less, they're in bussiness to sell as many quads as they can and not worried about customer serivce. all the components are sealed, it's my opinion that water got in a electrial connector and coroded it, these connectors will corode overnite, i've seen it. i haven't heard of sunl having electrial problems, i know the kazuma meercat has a problem with the handel bar switch corodeing and making the quad not start or if it did start won't rev up and die. if it was me i would take the connectors apart one at a time and spay wd 40 or di- electric in them,if that didn't do it next i would ,and i had to do it once on our kazuma dingo's is start switching componets just to eliminate the possibility it just might be a component, i got down to the wire harness you know the last thing to check, that was it,

Bill, I will try it when I'm out next. The thing is, it ran fine, pulled it up to wash it, washed it and then tried to fire it and nothing. We are talking 5 minutes between running and not.

i think its differently water related, when you washed it the water got in a connector and cause a short, doesn't lake a whole lot,if you haven't already notice take a look at where the wires enter the connectors, you can see big space where water can easliy enter, if you didn't remove the body works at that time you couldn't possibly dry out all the connectors. at that time all the componts and wireharness plus the spark plug wire should have been spayed with wd 40, the wd 40 displaces the water and doesn't short or damage any of the electrial componets. at this point the first thing i would check is the spark plug wire just to make sure it's not shorting, remember this is chainese and not the hightest quality parts, simple to do ,start the quad up ,touch the wire,,if you get zapped that would be it. after you get it running nornal again you should seal up all the connectors and componts so this can't happen again
