All,
My buddies bought one for his son and the clutch burnt with less than 3 hours on it. Anyone had that problem...just wondering if they're prone to this or this is just a one time thing? Also, I pulled it off...it is burnt. Anything tricky on it when I put it back together? SEADAWG

This is not a normal thing. I have had redcats and still have a Yamoto110 that is over a year old and still going strong. I can tell you that if he has not changed the oil or has changed it with a regular automotive oil it will fail sooner than it is supposed to. Also how big is the kid riding it, how is his shift pattern. If you ride the shifter longer than you need to it will burn up.

All,
He bought it from a dealer in Oregon. He didn't change the shipping oil...plus, they ran it like it was regular oil. It was low on oil...not visable via the glass. There was some oil in it, but way low. When I drained the remaining oil, crap was all in it. I don't think it damaged engine (hope), but it heated/ate the clutch. Compression is good....I don't smell anything so I hope it is just his clutch. Lesson....check oil every ride and don't trust anyone that the shipping oil has been changed. The oil in there was more like a thick WD40 SEADAWG
