just got some big snow here, after the trails were broke with polaris and everything was packed down. the redcat 150 got the workout.

since the the carb cleaning, and tune the redcat is starting with ease in temps in the teens the falcom 250 is a different story.

got about 2 hours of my kid spinning the tires and making the motor sound like it was gonna blow, it held together.

big problem the snow gets packed in that rear axle cover causing it to stay in reverse, until you pull on the cable.

1 burnt out headlite from a couple of weeks ago.

Good snow report Hoyt. I hope that my son's Redcat does well in the snow as well. Curious, is the tread pattern on your Redcat go like this:

Sorry for the poor pick but didn't know how else to describe it.

no his are more like knobbys that is the pattern on the falcon 110 and 250 and they stink in snow, i was gonna order redcat tires for the 110, but i soldit and gave the kid the 150 to ride, the 250 i own has not been ridden much lately.

well its been a long winter warm, cold, really cold,

most our riding was on the lakes this winter. we sold the 110 it is still running like a champ though 2 kids sharing it only thing starter switch went.

now for ours

the redcat 150 took a beating this winter lots of donuts running high rpms trying to go thru snow... it held up motor didnt blow up...still original battery, started right up everytime. so i couldnt be happier with this little quad.

only problem lost a cotter pin on tie rod at the steering stem no biggie all fixed, i burned out headlight.

all in all redcat 150 excellent.

falcon 250

was ridden only a few times on the ice but i beat the crap out of it and it held together also i do question things on this one but its running good just a little hard to start in the cold but oh well what do you expect i thought for sure i was gonna blow the thing up on the ice but i didnt.

in all im happy ive had them almost a year and there doing good ready for some new oil and a little bit of mantinence work and checking them out and getting ready for summer.

a little wrenching skill and help from people here these can be decent little quads for kids especially first timers.

im gonna be in the market for a scrambler or a trail blazer for my 12 year old yeah i know it seem big but he rode the sp 400 alot this winter and handled it fine he respect the power of it. it will probably be a tb though love them 2 strokes.

Hoyt,

The trailblazer is a great quad. Almost bulletproof and plenty of power for a teen. Cant go wrong there and you can find them pretty cheap.
