Compare 110cc -vs- 150cc?
#1
I just purchased a sunl 150cc atv and my best friends father is looking for one and was wondering how much of a power difference is there between one of the off brand 150cc and a 110cc like this.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-A...QQcmdZViewItem
He is in his 50's and does not want something to big or fast. He mainly wants to just put around and ride around some trails. He is not looking to jump this thing at all. $550 might do him well. He like mine but he said he would be willing to get the 110cc for half the price if the size of the atv and the power out put was not to far off.
I know alot of you guys dont like the off brand atv's but this is what he can afford and what he is willing to do, so please no flaming or bashing. Just wanna know how these atv's compare.
Thanks.

The link is to a mini atv. It is single gear auto. That size bike is usually outgrown by 8, 9 or 10 year olds, depending on their size.
Based on your description, he would probably be satisfied with a 150 gy6 engined utility style bike. These have a CVT automatic transmission probably similar to your sunl. Most have forward and reverse in a separate gear box - some better than others. My 10 year old has a kazuma dingo and it is fine for adults too. The dingo is not the prettiest bike in the world, tho. There are several others available but I dont know about their quality. The dingo seems real good. The only mechanical problem was the factory carb was defective and raceway replaced it with a mikuni when new.

Welcome to the forum oaklandr8ersfan! I would try and talk him into a 150. Much easier to ride than the 110's. And less to think about while riding also.

He was leaning torwards the 150cc, but was just wondering about the power output differnece between the 110 and the 150 for cost reasons. He will more then likly get a 150. There is a Alien Motors here in Vegas that has a 110 on a pretty large frame that he was going down to look at this weekend. I just if he does decide on that atv that it has enough power for what he wants to do.
