Pred 90 up and died
I have an 04 predator 90 that my daughter races. A couple weeks ago I fired it up - it ran for about 5 minutes, got warm, then just died. I put a compression tester on it thinking that it was probably time for a new top end, found that the pressure was low and replaced the top end. Same time I decided to install a malossi cdi box. It is wired properly. I put the bike back together tonight and it fired for about 30 seconds but then died when I gave it gas. Thinking that it might have flooded I walked away and came back to it sometime later and after two or three kicks it did the same thing. I took the carb off - tore it all down, took the reeds out ( they look good) and cleaned every little thing I could dissasemble. Now I have exactly squat! Sounds like I have good compression, I know I have fuel. Could my problem be electrical? I have spark but it is/ or seems weak. I removed the plug boot, cut 1/2" of wire off and screwed the boot back on assuring a good connection, rechecked all of my wireing throughout the whole bike and it is all good connections. It just won't start!
Any ideas? Could it be stator and if so how could I test? If it is stator would it start, run then suddenly die? Do resistors die? Could the coil be an issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumped.
