Mongoose 50 2stroke will only idle and does not respond to full throttle. Occasionally it will respond only to run a short time and sometimes it will actually run in reverse. I have pulled carb and cleaned but symptoms are still there. Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas how to fix??

I havnt had anything run in reverse since my '73 CZ 250. It would do it when the timing slipped and got to close to TDC. I would check your timing and see if its off. You can use a timing lite (just like on a car) to see if its firing right. You would of course have to take off the flywheel cover to do this.
