Sportsman 90 Question...
#1
I bought my 02 SP 90 used, didn't come with a battery. I put a new battery in it and I get nothing when I try starting it up using the electric starter. By nothing I mean nothing at all. It will kick start no problem. I measured 13.4v at the battery. I haven't had the time to investigate it much, but was wonder if any body knows the answer to this question... Besides the starter switch what is different electrically between kick starting and the electric starter that may cause my problem?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Not to sound too simple and you may be well aware of this, but you have to pull the brake handle in before it will start. I only tell you this because my son has one and went riding with some neighbors. It died and they towed him in and then hauled it back to the house. Not sure why they didn't kick start it, but I walked right out and pulled in the brake handle and it cranked right up. None of them tried to pull in the brake handle. It's probably not that simple, but I figured I'd throw that out there.

Thanks,
I did try the brake. The guy who had it before me was kind of a duct tape and bubble gum fixer if you know what I mean. I'm not sure if there is some thing disconnected some place I haven't found. The is a connector that this not connected to any thing in the front end where most of the wires are.
Does anyone know how to disable the brake interlock?

Check to see if you have power going to the starter relay with a test light while hitting the starter switch. If you don't could be the switch. If you do see if you have power going to the starter motor by checking the power wire going to it with a test light. If you don't probably the starter relay, if you do its the starter motor.
