wow, that bearing doesn't even look like a bearing any more. I'd have to agree, it must have been defective and just came apart. If you got it locally I'd be showing him the axle...or sending pics to the dealer if you bought it online. I would hope any dealer would help you get any parts you need. It should be on warranty.

Chinese bearings with little or no grease dont last long Forget getting free replacements, find a Japanese bearing that is the same size. Id also replace the seals like Jessie_atvruns suggested. Collar might still be usable.
