Helmet for a 2 year old?
I do not want to sound bad here guys, but at 2 years old and not having the muscles in your neck to support a helmet (which I agree with) you should not be on trails on a four wheeler. Puttin around the backyard in a controlled environment is one thing and still dangerous at that.
Secondly, as a law enforcement officer, I can tell you that in the state I work and reside in, if your child is injured while on that four wheeler and you need to seek medical attention from a physician and/or hospital, you could and most likely would be charged with reckless endangerment under the state statutes. The treating physician, unless unscrupulous, has a legal and ethical obligation to report it.
I have waited long and patiently to get both of my sons on to quads and have done so at the ages of 8 and 10. This coincides with DNR regulations in the states I wish to take them riding in and meets or exceeds the criteria for that which constitutes criminal and civil penalties for them being on them.
I clearly recognize as a parent it is everyone's individual decision, but myself and my peers have seen far too many instances of kids or others injured and killed by getting on an atv or street bike that they were far too young by any reasonable person's judgement to be on.
Just a thought.
