2008 Arctic Cat 90 Intermittent Spark
#1
I have a 2008 Arctic Cat 90 Utility 4 wheeler. I have been having problems with this machine with intermittent sparking since the day I bought it. Originally acted like key switch so I replaced. Also have brand new coil. (Acts the same with new coil vs. old). Tested again today with a toggle switch installed instead of key switch. One minute it will start fine and run. (Letting it run for a minute or two, so not getting hot). Turn the switch off and right back on, and no spark. If I let it set for 3-4 minutes, it will start right back up again. I've got the right plugs in it (replaced original with factory recommended). Runs like a champ when it sparks. I've got the wiring diagram, and have been through all the wiring with my meter and everything checks out. I'm guessing maybe CDI???? Does anyone have any ideas.
Thanks

It probably is the CDI but go through the tests in the "help diagnose stator" sticky in the Chinese engines section of this forum, this should tell you if anything other than the CDI is wrong. Intermittent faults are the worst as you can't test it when it works correctly.
