When you get that off you'll find a big nut FYI:: the big nut is left hand thread.
The cover is that big aluminum thing that you argued with to get off.
So there is one nut that holds cover on then a left hand one then will shoes come out ready for modding

Yes, one nut for the rear clutch removal. Then under hub (cover) you'll find the big left hand thread nut. I use a 1 3/16 or 1 1/4 depending on the year.
Then the clutch pack will come off. Then remove the 3 springs then 3 cir-clips and the shoes will come off.
Remove those rubber bumpers (you'll see)..

Once you get the shoes off, you'll see the rubber things.

Big nut (press in hard on clutch pack to get nut started, lefty tighty, righty loosey)
Hub (COVER)
Big spring washer (the cup lookin washer sits inside of it)

Crap.. I replied to this, this morning..or so I thought.
Ok, it's like this (I'll presume you have the clutch pack together and on the post)::
Splined hub-fiber disc-clutch drum (what your calling the cover I think)-fiber disc-flat metal piece-big spring washer-splined umbrella-nut.

The metal disc goes either way, the big spring washer goes cup side in.
