Looks like you got it.
For time purposes, you might as well stick a Boyesen reed in it.

That did'nt fix it,but it could'nt have been helping. What should I try next? Someone told me it could be in the clutches,is that possible? Any ideas?

How about taking the carb off the one that runs (my motor) and trying it on the Grissom.
I think it's in the carb.
No, clutchs won't make a engine sputter.

Jack, yesterday i just swapped over all of the fuel side of River's cause I knew it ran well and when I started it it did'nt want to go like taking off in high gear so I suspected a clutch prob. then so I just shut it down. This morning I got into the clutches and its all jacked up! Rollers are melted and flat and there was alot (about 4 table spoons of what looked to be aluminum powder everwhere)? Im gonna clean everthing up and replace the 3 rollers thats in it,i think i have 3 new ones. What I really need is a national motor.Lol

If the clutchs weren't working properly, it being stuck in low gear (so to speak) would rev very very high, which could make it go lean and pop.
To be honest, I thought you would have been into the clutchs before this.

The clutches worked flawlessly until yesterday after I put the other carb from your motor on it.I was checking to see if the carb.fixed the problem then this happened.I took clutches apart after work this afternoon and I found that the inside sheave has came apart and was rubbing the inside part of the case housing. This part is the first part that would go on the driven shaft if you was putting everything back together,I wonder if its possible to weld the inside sheave back on?Don't really know what to do?Any advise?

I think I got it. Rear clutch. The face broke off..Right?
You need a new fixxed face.
I don't think the clutchs have been working. With the rollers being all melted and all the aluminum dust. That didn't happen in one or two runs.

If I was to give up on getting this one going right now would the big-bore cylinder and piston work on River's to give a little more umph we've been getting beat by about a 1/2 second on our TT track?
