dvx 90 transmission
#1
I just bought a used 2010 DVX 90 (same as Kymco mongoose 90) an it doesn't shift into reverse easily, if you push the shifter down it doesn't engage fully and then when you rev the engine it slams into reverse. Is it simply a matter of adjusting the linkage so it goes into reverse a bit more? I have a 30 day warrantee from dealer and want to make sure it will not need transmission work. Dealer is 300km away or I would just go there. Thanks

1st I've heard of the Kymco w/reverse having a problem.
Sure is a long drive to the shop. With that being said, If there is a adjustment, I'd try it.
Next would be to look up a parts fiche on some dealer site on the internet. Maybe that can shed some light on whether there is a adjustment or not. Plus you can get a idea on how it works/shifts.
Wish I had more for you.

I adjusted the linkage to put it further into reverse and that seems to work but I guess it is the clutch engagement speed that is causing a hard shift. I called the dealer and they said that is how they are and the 300 are worse.
