gasket help

Default gasket help

this was apart when I got my 89 lt80. I looked at the parts diagram and it dose not show a gasket on the back of the reed block.

is there one that goes here.

also I cant tell if there is an o ring here or do I need another gasket

o'ring on the carb side, the other side is molded in, cant be replaced, use some rtv or make a paper gasket if needed. i would prefer rtv tho

thank you for the help like most im trying to rebuild this for my son. the parts diagram only shows an o ring on the spacer. do I use the same one for the reed cage.

The raised rubber lip outer edge serves as a seal top picture. Looks like u may want to take reeds off and clean the rubber if that ain't pitting to ensure proper seal of the reeds, inspect reeds while off too. Was there a plastic spacer shaped like 2nd pic it presses against that side of reed block between that and carb it will require an o ring between spacer and carb. Will prob have to get from suzuki dealer hadn't found one that matches at an auto store

I does look like there is some pitting around the reed.
Like mentioned, only 1 o-ring and that goes in the black plastic piece (it's called a insulator).I use a lil grease to hold it in.

I ordered new reeds so I will clean that up. thanks. I'm sure I will have more questions as parts come in and the build progresses.

If that reed cage is pitted where the reed seats, you'll need another.

yes just checked and its pitted pretty bad dose $45 sound about right for a new one or is there a better aftermarket

if your interested in used, i know i have a few laying around. i just have to check if they are pitted, but i pretty much already know they arent
