Default Lt 80 bad pet ****???

New member here. Just picked up 86 lt80 for $100 that hasnt been run in long time. Put it mostly back together and installed new plug, cleaned carb, tank, and petcock and low and behold got it started on third pull. After initial start-up would start easily on first pull. Finished assembly so I could take it for little ride but felt locked up when I tried to pull it over again. Pulled plug and found top end full of fuel. So good news is motor not siezed up but wondering What would cause this? Faulty petcock? Something in carb sticking open?

Thanks. I'll search threads when I get a little time. I tried using search function but it didn't seem to work at all. I will be looking to make this a reliable trail machine for Pa.
