Default Raptor 50 upgrades

My son starts racing gncc next month trying to get a little more out of his raptor iv got a cdi box on the way way from raptor 80 was looking at a big gun exhaust package with filter and jet kit and going to a 18" rear tire but my question is it worth putting all this into a raptor or should I go ahead and upgrade to a mechine with better suspension I know the solid front axle is going to affect handling but not really up on what's out there for 50cc racing quads

I’m no expert, but every post along the lines of this on the mini quad racing forums would tell you to go straight to a drr and not waste the time and money building anything else.

I agree. Go to miniquad fanatics on facebook. Many 50's on there for sale and ready to race. IMO, most are fairly priced.
OK, just looked, not "many" but there is some.

You'll find out that a mini costs thousands to build. A used built machine can save you thousands.
