Default How to check valves on predator 50?

I have a 2005 and a 2006 predator 50. Both of them are just a pain to start. one of them has some starting symptoms matching a few other posts here and everyone says “check the valves”. How do I do that? You’d think there would be a YouTube video out there, but nothing. I’ve never done it but I’m not afraid to try. Please help.

Just googled it and it comes up as a 2 stroke so no valves, is yours a four stroke?

Well this shows you how much I know. They are 2 strokes so I guess all of the valve talk is non applicable. I feel like they are still starving for fuel, even with Carb rebuilds. I did figure out late last night that one of them has a clogged line or petcock because it trickles in the on position and flows well in the reserve position. It was too late to fire it up, but I'll see if there's any improvement on it with it in reserve. I also adjusted the air intake screw on the carb to about 1-3/8 turns past lightly seated. I found that from an old OPT post and that guy seemed like he knew what he was talking about.

I'm not sure on the hours on them. Bought both used, one was a little rough and I'd guess it was used pretty often. One is pristine and I doubt it saw too much use. I've owned them for about 5 months. What kind of rebuild are you talking? Top end (head/piston/jug) or even more than that? I know I need to test compression on it again and I'll report back with those numbers.
