Default cannondales vs 450s

What I have experienced is the YFZ gets out to a quicker standing start in the sand.
Depends on gearing and paddle selection.

Jerry maybe your experiences are different. My brother owns a YFZ now since July 2nd 2003 and it has all the bolt on goodies. Please don't take this next statement wrong. Comp Hill isn't even a speedbump. Oldmobile hill is a joke compared to our hiill. Your sand pile is called a hill ours is called a mtn. You can't compare a hill w/ a mtn.. Sand Mtn Utah is the benchmark of sand hills and the faster more powerful machine will always win no matter what the skill level. See my pic in my gallery of our mtn.. See my video on www.dunereview.com of me racing a Predator up Choke Cherry Hill at Saint Anthonys and then watch my bro's YFZ run the same hill..Wistech Please chime in on our hill. You rode dunes w/ me for the first time in your life last year on your Speed and your from Wisconsin.. I have a Wade Wilcox motor and it will not beat a YFZ, EVER, up Sand mtn..I speak only from experience and am not blinded, because I own a Dale and want to believe my Dale is faster. On the Sand hills the YFZ is faster... Wade Wilcox is gonna see our hill for the first time on the ATK May 21 ride and I will have the bro's YFZ w/ along w/ my Dale. My bro will be on an Alaskan cruise.. All Cannondale owners are invited to the ATK factory ride. Pack up and head north to meet the best Cannondale engine builder and Frank White and ride our hill and dunes.. It's to hot at Glamis. There is no excuse not to come. The ride has been posted for 3 months now on all Cannondale sites.. Wade will have some new maps he has designed himself for us to try...

Experiences do differ. I was only comparing stock vs stock and my lightened up Glamis 440 at around 350lbs. Maybe on longer hills, others run best, i 'm not sure nor I care. I simple like Cannondale quality, nice welds, fuel injection, gp software, alum frame, etc. If I wanted to drag race, I would be on a heavily modded Banshee.

I agree w/ you on why I own my Dale also. I could of sold mine for 6k 2months ago and didn't. I'm not a hillshooter either, but comparisons are always gonna happen.. My bro is my twin and w/ that we are always trying to out do each other..I like to be different and I like the Dales special unique things, like you and all Dale owners. Maybe you'll come to the ride. Our dunes are 11 hrs from downtown LA pulling a trailer..

I'm a twin too, but both of us have dales. I would love to go up there and ride one day, Glamis and Dumont Dunes are way too hot in the summer, the only place I can ride is Pismo Beach. In fact, I'm hitting Pismo this weekend, just checked my Glamis/Moto, all looks perfect.

Hey sandy , We are leaving wed morning and will pulling into Salt Lake thursdayaround noon . Are you going to be around if we stop by before going to the barbeque. Also I have aquired a 25 dune flags for any one that needs one. My local speed shop mistakenly ordered way to many and gave them to me at cost so he didnt have to send them back. If any one needs some just pm me.

I don't wanna sound like im bashing the Glamis at all,
My cousin has one, and I LOVE it. I just don't understand how it could out run a YFZ in a drag?
From what I know (I could be wrong) the Glamis is 25 pounds heavier, and doesn't have as big of an engine as the YFZ..Again im not trying to **** anyone off, Id just like to know how??
How does the Glamis compare to the YFZ in handling??

any info could be helpful..

My Glamis is sitting at under 350lbs and the engines are almost same in size, 432 vs 439, plus the fuel injection has incredible response. My Glamis has the Moto setup with 19" hi travel dual stage ohlins and it out handles my 89 250R, It's the only other quad i driven which seems to handle better than my 89 but I not driven the YFZ.
