I was in a Honda shop the other day and was talking to the parts guy behind the counter about general Honda ATV info and I noticed an extreme motocross bike video playing in the background. So I asked the guy, "dude how come everytime I come in here you guys are always playing the same dirtbike videos, why don't you guys play Huevos the ATV video or such?" The guy kind of shook his head and a couple of wannabe MX dirtbike guys just started laughing beside me. I turned and looked at them and was like what wtf? I said "excuse me what sup?" One of the guys proceded to tell me that ATV's were far from being extreme. He pointed at the video where this guy was doign a nack nack on a tripple jump and started gloating that until ATV's could do that, that they would never be in the same league. Well, I told these guys I had been riding ATVs for about 15 years. And that now more than ever there were alot more sport ATVs out and could do alot more than any dirtbike. So basically we got into this long fight about Dirtbike vs ATV. I was arguing that until a dirtbike could throw its a$$ end around on a dune throwing sand 35 foot in the air, or tackle mud, snow, and powerslide that they could never be totally extreme. Obviously they cared little to even slightly pay attention to what I was saying. I didn't even finish talking before one of the guys got up in my face, and we almost all got kicked out of the Honda shop. Man, wtf? Has there always been a rivalry like this between dirtbike guys and ATV guys? This is crazy. I stay over on the dark side of things in the ATV world and never get out I guess. Is this a new generation thing, I'm better than you type mentality or what? I have never seen this before anywhere....

Hey, I've got the Huevos videos and let me tell you those guys on there are NUTS! I'm not saying that they aren't cool because they are. They just have to have a big set of ***** to do some of that stuf. I couldn't beleive how far they were jumping on the quads. MX bike riders have alot less stuff to worry about,or go wrong when launching off a jump. Those guys you talked to just have no idea do they? I bet they would be afraid to do just about any triple on an ATV, more less jump as far as the guys on the Huevos video, or do a BIG jump and pull off a cordova. Jeremy McGrath even said that the ATVs scare him and that guys like Gust were crazy! Oh well I wouldnt worry about it cctman, the way I see it is guys like the ones you talked to just dont know what they are missing out on. Ive never got into an agument will a bike rider and perfer not to (they out number us ATV riders you know) maybe it is a new generation thing. Thats the last thing we need in this world right now the way everything else is going. Oh, and coming out of a corner with the front wheels and one back wheel slightly up in the air is a great feeling that bike riders will never know!hee hee.

ATV riders are simply second class to dirtbikers and snowmobilers. we haven't been around as long. probably in the U.S. ATVs would be bigger than snowmobiles in a lot of places, but here in winnipeg there's going to be an ATV and snowmobile show. it's most likely going to be all sled with one or two bombardier traxters. Hey cctman, if you want to prove your argument point, play them the 1st five minutes of Huevos III. John Natalie busts off around a 150ft double.... I almost peed in my pants when I saw it. It is the biggest jump I have ever seen in my life. It's crazy!!

I am so glad someone besides me finally stuck up to some of the MX punks. One of my Friends is a MXer, then he bought a Banshee and sold it again. Now he says that quads are for pussies, and that anyone can do all these tricks on them. Well, I told him I can do no hander landers, he is like so what, Then I told him on my 85 ATC250R, he's like "HOLY ****" but not once did I see him even attempt a one hander on the same jump. So the day I see a MXer do some of the stuff we can do I will quit getting in fights about it.

I gotta say I love jumpin, powersliding, and roostin with quads. But do I ever love goin down fast fire roads and blasting through the woods on my CR. This is why I enjoy the best of both worlds. When I tell guys that I ride quads they start to roost on them untill I tell them that I ride bikes too, then they don't say much.

Well listen, Hey I know I freekin pick on Cans and other brands sometimes but when it comes right down to it,I'm part of the ATV crew. I mean let me put it this way. I may not have owned the latest and greatest 250r dirtbike, but I have owned a kdx200 and several sport bikes as well as ATV's. And I can honestly say this... I would rather hang out with you ATV guys any day over the dirtbike crowd, Sportbike crowd, or anybody else. Their seems to be attitudes everywhere in every sport true. But so far I just feel like there is a better more founded brotherhood with ATV enthusiast and I will never leave them because of this. I found that you get more of a variety of different types of people from woods riders, extremist, duners, and people that just like to camp and ride in the woods. I just get tired of people that have no respect for others, and it seems that there are just to many posers in todays sports.

I just don't get it though .... I mean if there are really twice as many dirtbikers than ATVers and the sport is so much more popular, then how come when I attended in the past, Attica(IN), Dugger(IN), Laurel(IN), Little Sahara sand dunes(Utah), riding areas in Florida, Georgia ect; there is usually twice as many ATVers as dirtbikers? As I see it ATVers should be on top because every where I go I always see quite a few more ATVs than dirtbikes. Maybe its just me though... I don't know!

I dunno cctman, all my friends ride bikes, but all of them used to ride quad. We all race together everyweekend, and I never run into anyone that's against quads. One guy that I know said quads just tear up the track, and I said well I think bikes tear it up too! He didn't say too much.. But I guess it's just like us guys... WE stick up for our quads, and they stick up for their bikes. Pride is a pain in the butt sometimes. I think the whole MX sport is one big family.. But obviously they dont.. OH well.
