I'm thinking of purchasing a Speed. I've ridden a cannibal, how does the Speed compare?

What should I be aware of when I purchase it?

Has anyone lowered the Cannondale? For Drag racing or TT racing?

The only info I can offer you is to talk to thumper711 about lowering it, he races flat track. There is also a post on this. The speed should be very similar to the Cannibal but still have some slight differences. Good luck.

For those people who are in the market for a C'dale, you need to be aware that even on the same model, you will/may find slight differences in the quads. Cannondale is constantly changing things on the quads, updates if you will. For instance, the new quads that are arriving at the dealerships now have a reinforced swingarm as compared to the others. Some may have a hydraulic clutch and others will not.
The Cannibal may or may not have still have the Ohlin shocks. They all now should have the new GP1000 fuel injection system. In other words, compare the quads, look for the reinforced swingarm, it's easy to tell, the top of the swingarm now has an aluminum plate welded on top. There is no opening now as compared to the older swingarms. Compare serial numbers on the quads, that will tell you how long it's been sitting at the dealers. The weird thing, some dealers can't seem to sell any and there are other dealers that can't keep them in stock.
We've even heard of dealers that have stopped selling C'dales because they could not sell any, go figure!!

I have a speed and love it, but have never riden a Cannibal. Some of the upgrades on the speed should be:

Ohlins shocks
ITP alluminum wheels
Hydraulic clutch
Reinforced swingarm ( mine doesn't have this but pushing for an upgrade)
Higher rev limit - 11,600 vs 10,500
Different silencer ( I think )

But, as Brian said you might find a Cannibal with the same shocks, wheels, and clutch.

The Speed and Cannibal never had the same shocks... same kind (Ohlins) but the ones on the speed are more adjustable and are a Piggy back style shocks (I think?). I'm gonna try for new front shocks sometime but my rear shock is AWESOME after I dialed it in a little... and it's not even completely right, for my weight anyways. I had to set my front Ohlins tighter due to my frame bottoming out a few times. Any C-dale you choose will be a good choice though... they are all awesome quads!

I think the currently shipping speed is probably worth $1000 more than the current cannibal. That really depends on what your going to do with the quad though. compare em at a dealer.

Ummmm... The Speed and the Cannibal did have the same shocks. The Speed never came with piggy back reservoirs in the front, only preload adjustable.

Oh ok. I've never seen a Speed. The only dales I've seen is one bike, my Cannibal, and the other Cannibal I test drove on my first trip there. Anyone that lives in the Dallas area and wants a Cannondale, don't buy from Action Power Sports. They'll screw you over every chance they'll get.
