An easy eay to jack the front end up is put the quad in gear then grab the fron bumper and pick it up until the quad is leaning on the rear grab bar.

It would be kinda hard to mess with the shocks with the front end straight up, don't you think?

EDIT... I think I need to proof-read my posts, I mess up alot when typing!

Thats how I did mine its easier as instead of pushing down on the spring retainer your just reaching through the bottom of the A-Arm and pulling it.

So lets say I bought some aftermarket +3 a-arms but I couldn't afford new shocks at the moment. Instead of my front end practically dragging on the ground, could I move the ring stop down a couple of notches instead of up in order to make it sit up a little higher?

I got to mess with my suspention set up today.I raised the stop ring
to the 5th notch on the fronts and set the rear sag to be 3&1/4 inches.I cant wait to try it on the track. It sits lower than my ex now.I think this set up is going to be great for the corners and all thoes little breaking bumps, much smoother.Im gona have to work my way up to the big jumps to see what the front will take now.

Briansgi,I love it,the poor mans zps, fits me perfict. Thanks for the tip.

Now that I've got a little time on mine here are my thoughts. I weigh about 190..

I'm liking the Ohlins more and more... At first they seemed very harsh. Now they're feeling pretty good. Still initially harsh, but when ridden aggressively, they soak stuff up quite well - especially when standing, better than my $1,500 set of Elka's on my race quad (which are in line to be replaced by a set of PEPs)

I think most of the initial harshness I'm feeling is actually coming from the 21" Holeshots on the front. They seem much smaller than the other 21" tires I've run & you have to run a significant amount of pressure in them to keep from bending the wheels.

I believe switching to my 22" RAZRs (which are significantly larger) will be a vast improvement in ride quality and will also make a substantial difference in negotiating trail obsticles like low speed logs and ledgerock - these Holeshots on the fronts just don't cut it in a cross country style environment.

I'm also noticing quite a bit of feedback from the steering system. Although the steering and handling feels absolutely great, I believe the wheel offset is too wide. Switching to a set of +4/1 wheels should make a positive difference. A good steering damper should take care of the rest.

BTW, I cannot raise my collars at all without it completely unloading the springs in the front. They are currently on the 8th groove.

Same here, I tried it yesterday. With the front end up and no load on my shocks the springs are barely tight, not really any load on them. They where loose enough that I could pull them down with one hand and move the ring with the other. When I move the ring up one notch the springs are loose and have absolutely no preload.

I moved mine from the 8th notch the the sixth notch but I didnt like that because there was not enough preload and the colars were on the highest setting. So, what I did is went the 9th notch and put the collars on the lowest setting. Ended up with a little more preload, same stance, and I can still stiffen the springs up more if doing some major jumping.

when you move the spring stops up to get an almost zero preload... and the A-arms are almost horizontal... this must widen the stance of the front end.... is it noticable? measuarable?... does it make the steering feel as if it needs a stabilizer?
