I adjusted my shocks the other day and have them on the tightest setting. I moved it up 2 notches and it still has enough preload. I haven't had the chance to ride it yet though since I can't find my spanner wrench and I want to adjust the sag on my rear shock. Is there anything I can use besides a spanner wrench? I tried a pipe wrench but it wont work.

To make the shocks softer do you move the clip up or down?

Move the clip up to soften the ride but don't move it up so much you have no preload anymore unless all you are doing is drag racing and you need that front end squatted down. Try moving up 2 positions and see what that does. You of course also have your 3 position spring preload adjustment you can play with as well, on the Ohlins of course.

I have 3/2 offset front rims and my speed would barley fit through my garage door when I rode it in before I raised the ring clip on the ohlins. Now that I raised the rings from the 9th grove from the top to the 6th it dosent its about 3/4 to 1 inch to wider.I have to get of and lift up the front to get it through now.

I did some testing last weekend on a very tough sx track.I felt that I liked mine on the 6th grove from the top with the spring adjustment full extended.

Reasons why:

It sat lower and wider helping out my corner speed.

When going over a section full of dirt bike ruts and breaking bumps
The front shocks were moving but I wasent geting half the feed back as if it was on the 9th grove.

They still held fine with out botoming off the hard landings.
Plus you dont get the hard rebound of the big jumps you just stick and go.Sorta felt like zps shocks.

I also set my rear sag to 3 1/2 inches. This also helped soak up the ruts and breaking bumps, and stuck to the ground off a big landing.

After these simple adjustments my speed sits atleast 1 1/2 inches lower with a lot beeter feel on the rough stuff.

Just my 2 cents.

Briansgi,Thanks for sharing your suspention set up with us.My bike handles awsome now.

I still dont understand how you guys are doing this. I can't even move mine up 1 notch or the spring will start to float. I had the shocks of the other day and tried it again with no luck. What P/N is on your Ohlins springs. Its like 148-XX
