Hey Fellas,

I need som info on a BLAZE 440. I currently own a griz 660 and would like to also get a sport quad. I like to race in scrambles with my griz and would also like to also race a sport quad. I have a couple questions about the Blaze. First I am about 6'3" 300lbs. Will this blaze fit me and can the Ohlins shocks be revalved for my weight. Second I have heard this quad has a lot of power but is this enough for my size. I have thought about getting a raptor but I have heard that the raptor does not have a very strong frame also there would be the need to add a lot of aftermarket part to bring it up to speed to race in scrambles. The Blaze has all I need and plus I like the fact the C-Dale is made in USA.

Thanks for your comments

For Hare Scrambles, there are only two quads. The Honda400EX and the Cannondale's.

For your size, the 400EX isn't going to cut it. Go with the Blaze.

The Cannondales are much more accomadating to larger riders than the 400EX

I agree, as I stated before I am 5'11 and 235 with all my gear and the speed feels like I have more room than the 400ex. I think you should be ok on the blaze, you will love the power.

I'm 6' and 280 with my gear. The EX did a decent job for semi-aggressive riding. The handling was great, but the suspension didn't last after 20' doubles. And 280lbs plus a quad isn't fun over 20' anyway! lol

The Dale feels real good. It handles just as well as my old EX and the shocks soak up all the hits. The Ohlins do fine for me for what I will be doing. The shocks on the Blaze will be even better than my plain Ohlins.

Powerwise, you'll be impressed. I have the Blaze mapping with the Big Gun and it's rated below the Blaze with the stock exhaust (from what I've heard anyway) and it has more than enough power. Just playing around on some jumps, the way the Dale will accelerate with short take-offs, compared to the EX, is phenominal! It just plain rips....

The blaze costs about $2000 more:

You get Beadlock rear rims, holeshot xc's, tag t2 bars, fmf titanium exhaust, different map, tether switch, nerf bars, better(cooler) seat cover, moto color scheme, dual rate with rezzy ohlin front shocks, different rear/front disc brakes called "wave".

I think that is about it, if you can afford it it is a better bike cuz it comes with more goodies and all stuff I am probably gonna put on my speed and spend more than 2 grand doing, but I couldn't justify or afford 10000 dollar lump some on a quad.

Thanks Dex, that's good info. I guess I'll have to save up for it now.
