I have never read the actual reconmendation on changing it, but we usually change it about every 4 hare scramble races on racing machines and at least twice a year on others.

We have had lots of experience with the Magura hydraulic clutch since we also deal with KTM motorcycles which use the same system.

The clutch fluid is just as important as the brake fluid.....and for the same reasons. Excessive usage, like a GNCC race for example, WILL cause the fluid temprature to get very hot. This breaks the oil down just like if it was in an engine. Once it starts to lose oil's consistency, the clutch action will not be as smooth as before, and eventually it will fail to operate all together and without warning.

Think of it as a deep fryer that use to cook with two nights a week. Keep doing this without changing it for a few weeks. The oil will no longer perform as it was intended.

Sorry for such a corny comparison, but this is usually the only one that everyone can relate to.

Hope this helps,
Patrick

So your saying that it's not really worth it to get a hydrolic clutch? I know they cost money, but i sure would like to have less pull, the less the better! I do race, so i should be concerned about that right?
thanks man, have a merry christmas!
