Trout,

Buy a coping saw and a magic marker, make sure all the lines are even when you go to cut them leave the lines and use them to make sure both sides match. Go over with a file and sandpaper to smooth them.

<< sweet! I want to trim my fenders too but am not sure what to use for the trimming. I thought about tin snips, that is about all I have, but looks great. >>

Trout,

You use tin snips to trim your fenders, and I'll drive out to Denver (say hi to my sister-in-law) and de-nut you with those!

Mark off where you want to cut with masking tape, and take your time with a saw-z-all or jig-saw. Measure it out and make sure it's even. Then smooth down with a file or course sand paper. Finish it off with 400 or 600 grit sandpaper, and call it done! There was an article in Dirt Wheels a couple of months ago....on dare I say, a rapturd.

Not drop and give me 50 for thinking of using tin snips Private Trout!

Dismissed!

BTW Brad, nice lookin quad....

I use a coping saw cause you have more control over your cuts and are less likely to mess up. Then use a palm sander, you can get a cheap one at wal-mart for like $10-$15 dollars, to sand the edges perfectly smooth. The palm sander works great because you can round off the edges and smooth out any not so straight cuts.
