i like the looks of the 18 x 10, they look just plain nasty. we blew a turf tamer on the cannibal tonight at practice, now gotta find a set before saturday nigts race. the 20" stock tires suck on the track. too much bite for the corners, my boy about flipped it a couple of times before they put the 18" turf tamers on it. gonna be fun saturday night, we know we got at least 3 cannondales in the race aginst the honda boys and this track hasnt had any cannondales race there before. they were really giving us the look over. my sons sponser sold a moto to a boy on a raptor that had $ 11,000 in it. he took one lap on the moto and came back and said what will you give me for the raptor on trade.

I thought so... I didn't think the offset was wrong, but just that the wheel is narrower... it looks pretty goofy but I'm getting an axle pretty soon (hopefully if I make enough hours at work) so it won't be to bad. I didn't really think they could make the wheels offset any deeper due to the fact that it would probably not be the safest or most durable offset.

I really wasn't looking forward to all the hassle of having to call rockymountain, hoping they will take the wheels back and then reordering new ones from somewhere else that is more expensive and then probably end up with the same thing.

I'll just stick with these.

Having just recently got my 'dale, I hadn't measured the rim width, but I had made the observation and commented to a friend that I thought the rim looked wider than most of what I've seen before because of the way the edge of the tire and edge of the rim were pretty much even on the sides. Now that suspicion is confirmed. I have also noticed in most pictures in mag's that the pros are usually running 8" rims. Even the XC quads that are running taller(than 18&quot tires. On the flip side, I know 2 guys that bought 10" rims, and they do look great! Even if they may not be as functional as a smaller wheel. That call's up to you, what do you want, looks or performance??
As I mentioned in the other post, Rocky Mountain does carry a small variety of offsets, but you have to ask, they don't offer them.

KNOWSALOT, I agree.

Another reason lots of racers prefer the 18x8 over 18x10 is the sidewall cushion. It seems that with a 18x10 wheel/tire combo, you get alot harsher landings. They do have less sidewall flex, but the payoff isnt worth it to me. I tend to think that my R has PLENTY of power to get the wheels spinning, and with the right PSI, cornering is almost as fun as getting mad air.
