Round 12 of the GNCC

Thanks LT for wheel & Tire info,
Yep those are the exact tires 23" fronts & 22" rears, Holeshots XTC's that I am getting. I got a few ??? if you get a chance/time.
Why do you guys like or prefer the carbon wheels over the aluminum such as ITP bead locks or the Douglas Bead locks?? Should I stay away from one or the other or are they all comparable to each other?
Since going to the larger diameter 22" rears what did you do for gearing changes??
How about the use of a steering stabilizer- Yes / NO?? Which is best bang for the buck (not real concerned with c$st but don't want/like to pay too much either) but I like quality and easy no fuss installation. Don't like die grinders and a big hammer to make stuff fit.
Your Speed do you use the stock (speed) map or have you tried the Blaze map? Doug thought that the Blaze map is a little nicer in the woods , However I do like my Cannibal map even though the bottom seems a little touchy and explosive (bottom-mid range) for woods riding.
If you (or anybody) has experience with the Blaze over the Cannibal mapping, the question being... would or does this Blaze map cut down on clutch work while riding the tighter sections of the trail?? Like more chug chug power.
LT have you ridden the Iron Man before and if so how does it compare to the Power Line GNCC??
How does Power Line compare to the previous races of this season. Track layout only not riding /weather conditions.
Also one more dumb ??? I noticed allot of broken bikes scattered around the coarse. Like way out in no-mans land what do the riders or GNCC officials do as far as clearing the track or help the stranded out?? Is this completely up to you to get back or will they come looking for those stranded??
Thanks I know its allot but the A's will be greatly appreciated.....Tarrat

First off I would stay away from the ITP rims, look at how the stock ones hold up or lack of it. The douglas ultimates are great beadlock rims, but cost the same if not more than the carbon fibers. The carbon fibers are lighter and plus if you damage one you can replace just the piece that was damage not the entire rim like the aluminum ones. I plus Hiper Tech has a one year waranty. They look nicer and I personally think they are stronger than the aluminum rims.
I didn't regear mine. I like the gear now for woods riding. Bogs down a little more.
I'm planning on getting a Steering Damper/Stabilizer at the end of the season. They make a big difference for racing. The denton rebuildable one is nice and has a decent price of $160. I don't like how it mounts on the 400ex's not sure if it's the same on the cannondale's. I'm thinking about getting a W.E.R. one which goes for $360. It's a different style and mounting, more like the ones that come on the Blaze and Moto. All of them come with easy mounting and no modifations to the quad to get it to work.
I'm running the blaze map in mine and like it real well. It does hit as hard off the low RPM's. A little more controllable in the woods.
The map will help an little bit. you can lug it some, but it still likes to be rode like a 2-stroke. I like how you can lug it more than a 2-stroke thu.
I've never been to the Ironman, so I can't compare it first hand to Powerline. I've been told that the Ironman is more tight woods racing and a rougher course. Powerline is an average course for the GNCC's. You'll have some that at alot of open field racing like (High Point, Mathews farm, Scarecrow, and Loreta Lynns) Other are super tight techincal races (Spartan, and I've been told Ironman). Powerline is in the middle of these. I had fast sections and some tight woods.
There are guys (track officals) the continuly sweep the course during and after the race and tow broken quads back to their pits. Sometimes it takes awhile for them to get everyone out. But they will get to every broke down machine and help out. If you see someone hurt of broke down remember about where it was and report it to the next check point so they can get someone there asap. One of the reasons they have mile markers on the course.
I hop I anwsered all your questions. If you get a chance look me up at the Ironman and I'll let you take the Speed for a spin so you can see how the 22's and mapping work along with the rims. See Ya at the next Race.
