Well had a good race over the weekend. First off the track was great, no dust, some mud and a water hole that was up to the fenders. The track had some open field racing and some tight woods. I would say 30-40% open field and the rest was woods. 9 1/2 mile laps. Around 200 riders in the morning class and 29 in the stock 4-stroke class. I finished 16th in the class and 68th overall. So I had a good race. A couple mistakes on the first lap and about half way through the last lap the shock started to fade do to heating up, so I had to back off a little. This finish move me up to 21st in the points and around 209 in the nation (next years national number). I had some fun with a banshee for 2 laps. Lets just say same corner on the 2nd and 3rd lap in an open field I made and pass on him and smoked him. The reason I had to pass him the second time was I had to stop for a goggle change do to the water hole.
Can't wait for Ironman to finish up the nationals.

Congrats man! I was there again. I thought the track looked nice, very sticky. I saw you several times on the track, you had a nice pace going. The morning race had the cleanest starts i have ever seen, no wrecks or pile ups. Did you by any chance stay for the Sunday races. For the afternoon bikes they added a 1.5 nile section on the second lap, it was nasty. They dropped into the creek(12 vertical drop) just past mile 3 down the hill. Crossed in and out of the creek several times, there was also a 20-25yd rock section. The were bikes and riders flying everywhere, total carnage. The GNCC officals were building bridges during the race so the riders could get through. They entered back on the course right before the water hole, but they had to go through a swamp section. There were mud holes so deep in the creek and swamp sections that it was well over their motors. Like 3' deep ruts. It was great!

Great racing once again and awesome weather! Good luck at the Iron man, I will be in Tellico that weekend with my Jeep. Later

Thanks, I didn't stay for the bikes. I wish I would have now though. Sounds like it was an awesome race. I thought the track was near perfect, race condition wise. I tracks in this style, wish it would have had a little more tighter, more techincal stuff though, it still is one of the better tracks I've raced on this year. Sparta is still top on my list.

Yep heading to tellico to break my junk. Its a 91 YJ with D44's, spool/locker, 36" grooved TSL's and a bunch of other crap. Sorry for the jeep stuff on a ATV board.

It looked to me that all the 'Dales did great this weekend. I have been kinda disappointed at how many fields you guys have been running this year. I would much rather see a tight technical course, thats when the best riders shine. Doesnt take too much skill to pin it open and fly across a field. You definately missed a good bike race. Andrews checked out on the last two laps, but everyone else was racing tight. I have a few pics of the rock section and the big vertical drop. I will post tonight. I didnt get any quad pics, i forgot the camera in the car.

lt250r91, are you going to the D-11 race this weekend? I will be making my D-11 2-stroke class debut. With the kind of shape I'm in right now, I'm just hoping not to finish last! Also, C-Dale took 4 of the top 10 in Pro-Production this weekend. Not to shabby.

Needaquad
I agree I what some more tight woods racing. I feel the same way about the open field stuff (any one can run wide open if there are no trees around). The cannondales did look good this past weekend. I guess it's just taking us time to get use to the quads and learn how to keep them up front.

Well, I planning on going to watch the 12 hour race on saturday. So pending on when I get back I might come out to watch the D-11 race. No 2-stroke quad so I can't race the district races until the GasGas shows up. The dealer told me today that the quad is somewhere in the Ocean on it's way to Florida. Can't wait.

lt250r91,

Congrats on your finish man. Nicely done.

I'm glad the dust didn't ruin your day like it did before.

Hey LT, if you like tight technical race you need to come down and run some MidSouth races this winter. Knowsalot knows what I'm talking about! We had the first race yesterday.

Needaquad, I'll have to go wheelin with ya sometime. I've got a 99 TJ with RE longtravel, Dana 60's, 37" Boggers, ARB's, 4to1 and a bunch of other goodies.

Hey lt250r91
Are the first shipment of Gas gas all the 300's? Any idea when the 4 strokes will be available? I have decided to wait until early spring(march) to buy my new quad so i was hoping they would be out by then, just more options to look at. thanks

Hey JeffatTQS,
WHere do you usually ride. We have some decent trails here in WV. We like riding at Slade, KY too, havent made it to livingston yet. We are heading to the Badlands, this spring and Moab next fall.
Here is a link to some WV wheeling pics:
