Reliabilty???

i bought a 2002 cannibal used, rode it three times and it siezed. it's been about a month or two but now the guy's saying he can get the parts but meanwhile i'm going through withdrawal with no riding. but my question is, after i get it back, what should i do? is this a high-maintenance quad that's only going to run a few hours at a time before needing the oil changed or rebuilt or something? by the way, if anyone knows how to get a hold of a owners manual please let me know. anyway, i've got a trip planned to colorado this summer for about 5 solid days of riding, will it be ok for that or am i going to be breaking down all the time slowing my friends down? should i sell it and go with something a little more worry free like a 400ex or something? also, what's the latest with the motorsports? is it dead or is there anything to that stuff about ktm buying it?

actually, i bought it right before they went bankrupt. it wasn't till i was calling around looking for nerf bars and stuff a couple days after i had it that someone said 'uhh, you know they filed chapter 11 today?' bad timing. great quad, awesome power but is it going to be a too big of a headache for someone that mostly just rides on his farm and in his trails?
