"Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual -- or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country." --Samuel Adams, in the Boston Gazette, 1781

I just got back from voting and the place was nearly empty. I expect it will be busy after people get out of work. It was really busy in one precinct and not the other last time.

Was a steady stream when I went with one of my sons.

Have a friend running for State Rep. here in Mass. It would be good to get someone with good old common sense in there.

A close second would be when Nancy Pelosi said "We have to pass this bill to find out whats in it". Refering to the Obummer Care Bill....

"I ... place economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared. ... We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude." --Thomas Jefferson (1816)

"There is a rank due to the United States, among nations, which will be withheld, if not absolutely lost, by the reputation of weakness. If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be known that we are at all times ready for war." --George Washington (1793)

How far we've fallen when our President won't even call Islamic terrorists, Islamic terrorists.
