Well, I guess we get to see what Obama meant when he was overheard talking to Vladimir Putin's aide and said, "This is my last election. After my election I'll have more flexibility." To which Putin's aide said, "I understand. I transmit this information to Vladimir. I understand."

Can't believe you're surprised... Incumbent almost always wins reelection.

Maine voted on Gay Marriage, it passed. Guess that argument that was thrown at me is now incorrect. Not all gay marriage laws are passed by a court, this was passed by majority vote!

Couple of states legalized Weed,

Guess my side's winning! Hahahaha

Sounds good to me! My side will just cut the military in half, and raise taxes on the rich. Should work out nicely!

Not that gay marriage or weed are particularly expensive... I mean, weed is but only because people can't grow it without getting arrested. But that wouldn't add to public debt anyway.

My Bible says, "Sin is a reproach to a nation."

Your side is winning for better or worse. Time will tell.

I've never asked. How old are you? I'm old enough (49) to have seen what happens when taxes (including the wealthy) are cut across the board and recoveries happen. The two things government does that either hurt or help the economy are tax hikes/tax cuts, respectively and government regulations that choke business.

I predict another doubling of the national debt, gas prices to continue to be high and maybe stay over $4.00 per gallon, especially as the Middle East deteriorates, and unemployment to hover around 8% and probably higher, as incomes of families go down further while welfare recipients get more, and more push from Secretary of State, Clinton to join the UN Gun Ban Treaty.

During this administration more people ended up on food stamps and welfare than at any time even as a percentage, welfare recipients "make" more than the workers who are supporting them on average, almost 50% of the population is on government assistance, and our embassies cry for security while our President watches in real time as the SEALs who tried to protect the embassy called repeatedly for help for hours. This and a "Justice" Department that had gun shops sell guns illegally to drug runners who, in turn, shot a Border Patrol officer and killed him.

That's a lot to be proud of.

Legalizing weed is no different than having drunks around in my mind. I did both as a youth. Glad I'm not wasted anymore. My friends who smoked a whole lot more than me were about as useful as the drunks in our group. Me included.

And, yes, for better or worse, Maine, Maryland, and Washington State, legalized an unnatural relationship and gave it the same credence as true marriage between a man and woman.

If this is the liberal utopia, Lord Jesus, come quickly...

Cutting the troops is a small part of the equation. It won't cover the spending that is done in DC. Yep, raise taxes on the rich. I mean the top 10% are ONLY paying 70% of all tax revenue now. They're not paying their fair share. Oh, wait a minute, they are, aren't they. Wouldn't want to control spending like the rest of us have too. They spread more and more out and win voters by giving away money that is taken by threat of force from taxpayers. They've succeeded quite well. The decades of giving away the farm have brought us to a point we may never be able to repay. I guess it will be the socialistic utopia of, "They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work", that my sister in law who escaped Czechoslovakia saw. If you keep demonizing the rich, the corporations, wage earners in general, sooner or later they'll move off-shore like so many businesses have. When there are no jobs available your wage isn't going to go up. You complain about the $7.50 per hour you make but don't seem to understand that if the owner's costs go up, his employees are either going to be let go or their wages are going to go down. In his 4 years, Obama has created an economy that has caused the average family to make $4500 per year less. So much for helping us in the middle class.

I'll reply with a more adequate response later. But what do you think of Reagan? Does Iran-Contra ring any bells?

Iran-Contra does ring some bells. I honestly don't remember the whole thing. I know Oliver North was involved and arms were given to Contra rebels who were fighting communists in S. America. That's about all I remember though. I am getting older. How about all those cruise missiles Obama has them shoot that kill innocent people? And if we're talking about lives, how about the millions of their own people, every communistic country has killed during the 20th century? Lenin, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung (did I spell that right), etc.

You still haven't answered my question about your age. It does have implications to me.

Read a little more on this. Personally, I don't mind the idea of arming people to overthrow tyrannical despots. It's how we gained our independence if I remember right and why the Second Amendment was written. Guns are so the populace can throw off a government that won't redress it's grievances.

Obama has done plenty of things without Congressional approval. Changing welfare law without it being voted on comes to mind. Making people dependent on government is a miserable existence for the people.
