Toy Hauler Shopping - Advice / Oppinions
I agree with all thats been said already. My buddy bought a 22' Weekend Warrior towing with their jeep cherokee, was within the weight ratings empty but by the time it was loaded up with everything, way over loaded. He ended up getting a Ford 350 dually, no problems now. Cut your losses, go with a 350 or at least 250, 3/4 or 1 ton.

I have 20' carson enclosed trailer with trailer brakes that I pull with a 32' motorhome love it. I use to pull for one season the trailer with my f150 4.6 with load leveler springs. I never had a problem but I new if I did not get something bigger it would shorten the life of my truck. I have a freind with a f250 diesel and he pulls a 30' 5th wheel and nothing slows him down. I guess what I'm trying to saying is you could make do with what you have, but you will soon relize you will want something bigger to pull with.

For what it's worth:
My buddy had a simple enclosed trailer that he used. he attached 4 old Army surplus stretchers to the walls, set to fold against the wall and hang from a strap hooked to the roof. he's load up the toys and haul them wherever, and once the toys are out, setup a camp table and stove, and sling down the stretchers as beds. Worked really well, too!
A custom window in the front let in a lot of light and airflow when needed. We pulled this behind his Nissan pathfinder with a V6 with no problems.

Rance Aluminum Trailers has a few that may work for you, they are very well built but still light in weight. If you can get by with a 7' wide V nose it will pull easier, use a simple handtruck type dolly to load the quads sideways. 18' foot would be plenty long enough for 4 quads and plenty of room for gear, check the spec sheet on this trailer, it's under 2000#.I have one of the Renegade models and am happy with it.... http://www.rancealuminum.com/esnow718ER.htm
