Thank God France did not go to war with us in Iraq.......Go to Google.com and do a search with the title of
Great French Military Victories and see what comes up...its pretty entertaining

To quote Donald Rumsfeld "Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without your accordion"

Ridley,

I've always enjoyed reading your post.... I've really enjoyed reading this one. I'm glad to see College doesn't always produce liberal Dems.

What get's me is that most of the people on here complain about losing two strokes, losing places to ride, and sometimes I even hear complaints about the '94 AWB on here. Yet, they'll jump on the Dem bandwagon...... just doesn't make sense to me. like I stated before Bush isn't perfact, but he's a better option then Kerry.

Threads like this die because of loud mouth, pompous windbags like you. Letting this die is fine with me.

About all this downing the space program and the like. You really irritate the heell out of me. Do you really think going to mars is for bragging rights or something? If you do, your a freakin tard. Earth is running out of resources, especially oil. We will need other methods of procuring resorces off planet. Sure, it may be 50 or 100 years away(or a decade for oil), but it's gonna happen and if we don't lay the foundation for such research now, we WILL get caught with our pants down. All the money we spend on space, will be paid back 1000 fold when the US has a monopoly on off world resources.
I don't think that is as important as all the discoveries in science we have learned due to the space program. The guys and gals in the shuttle aren't just up there twiddling their thumbs and doing literally hundreds of experiments that have led to better medicine, etc.

As the for numbers on the unemployment rate, I stand corrected. I was going off memory and should have looked it up before I posted. My mistake, and I admit it. However, anyone that knows anything about the economy knew it was slowing down in the last year of the Clinton presidency. Add to the fact the Enron fiasco (and others), the drop in internet stocks, etc, not even taking into account 9/11, I think the economy is doing pretty darn good.

Jobs are out there, you may have to go looking. You may have to move to a different city/state but they're out there. And when was the last time you got a job from a poor person?

How come the repubs won't sign a ban on land mines? They got those fancy ones that pop up and explode 5 feet off the ground. And to think, that kid was running after a ball. The US won't sign it, and keep laying mines that kill years after they leave. Might save a few jobs at the mine factory, who cares about the senseless maiming of thousands of innocent people. Hypocrits, you don't want the rest of the world to have nukes, yet have a back yard full of your own, you're going ahead with a missle defence system, again more jobs, to fight against who? There's your repub jobs, all in the paranoia building industry. Some of you guys really have your blinders on, you'll follow anything you believe without even considering an alternative. That's the kind of mindless obedience Hilter had with the Germans. Doesn't matter what Dubya says, you'll follow him, believing that he's absolutely correct in his decision making.
I don't have to back up my comment of dirty politics, watch a friggen election add. It's all right there, both sides, not just the repubs. Izzat how you guys decide things down there. Why don't you just set up a WWE ring on the front lawn of the white house and decide it that way. How immature can you be at that stage of leadership. Has the US become that immature, you're all stuck to your video consoles at 40 years of age. Look at the guy who busted the repubs on the Iraq war, and the 9/11 attacks. Now he's being crusified because it cast a bad light on Dubya's election chances, aka a school yard fight. They've got nothing else on thier mind except to attack this guy and find anything to make him look bad, never mind the evidence he might have brought forth. Like I said, you've forgotten the issues, you'r blindly watching to see how they're going to pummel this guy. Blind obedience people, Dubya has y'all brainwashed, and you'll believe every promise he makes. Don't bitc* when you get the big bill for the war and taxes go up, YOU voted him in.

So you obviously think we will use our nukes for anything other than for our own defense/retaliation? Talk about blinders.

So you mean the politico's in Canadia all sip tea and calmy discuss their differences? Come on, we're not that stupid. Dick Clarke is not what you might call a credible guy. He's testified under oath one way and tells a complete 180 in his book. So which is it? If you need to point fingers at someone, look at him. He's the single link in all of this fiasco. Fact is, everyone said he was so bent on cyberterrorism that was all he looked at. Also, look at his campaign contributions, only to Democrats and to ones whose opponent was a Republican.

Bush supporters aren't blindly following him. Most, like me, are upset that he is spending more money than even Clinton did, such as the education bill that he let Teddy Kennedy right and then gave him more money than he asked for and Teddy replies that Bush is cutting education. However, my first priority, and Dubya's, is the protection of the American people at all costs. That is his FIRST JOB, not to be the most popular leader like you seem to think. It does sound like you are afraid of your own shadow so my advice is to stay out of the light because without us next door to you, you would be in a lot of trouble. Kinda sucks having a neighbor that can defend itself and fight the fight on the other guys soil doesn't it?

Look whos talking about high taxes. The Canadian gov't has got to be one of the most left wing, anti gun ,tax raising ,socialized medicine failing chicken $(-)it gov't's out there.(next to the french of course) They thought Bill Clinton was the best thing to ever happen to the US of A. Ya Clinton proved that didn't he?. You would all vote in Kerry in a heart beat. Thats just the way you guys are up there. I know... I was from Saskatchewan and didn't see the light till I moved to the USA. If Gore was elected we would all be speaking a different language now and would all be riding horse and buggie around. Kerry said the other day that if he were Pres... he would do it right. Do what rite... What would he do different... Hell he can't even answer that. Him and Hillary oughta hook up or maybe they already did.Bush may not be the greatest but leaves Kerry in the dirt. Why are all the democrats upset because Bush is running on his record. They are a huge failure in this country. It's funny though how they all run on Republican ideas until they get elected then turn on the people as soon as they get in. To them it's all about the dumbing down of this country so that we must rely on the government...You all get your information from a socialist media and never listen to the other side of the coin. When people say Rush Limbaugh... you guys get mad.......If you are not a Democrat when you are young you are heartless.... if you are not a Republican as you grow older... you are brainless. Fear the government that fears your guns.[b](VOTE BUSH)[b]

Wow, a lot of good posts on both sides. I consider myself a moderate. And I do love my country. Anyone who sits there spewing that pumpkinhead Rush Limbaugh crap that states anyone who critizises the President is unpatriotic understands very little about freedom.

Here's a few quotes and who said them.......

"Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind."
—Albert Einstein (attributed)

"I can tell you this: If I'm ever in a position to call the shots, I'm not going to rush to send somebody else's kids into a war."
George Bush SR

"What luck for the rulers that men do not think."
Adolf Hitler

"Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
—Hermann Goering

"Cause the registration of all firearms on some pretext, with the view of confiscating them and leaving the population defenseless." --Vladimir Ilich Lenin

You "seen the light" by moving to the US did you? Yeah, I can imagine how oppressed you were living in the North, poor thing. Seems you haven't lived here in a while, but know a little bit as you're still keeping in touch with where you come from. The only reason we have higher taxes is because we have to pay for the programs that we maintain, and we have 230 million less people to help pay for it. Americans whine about high taxes, you don't know what the hell you're talking about. We get more of the "other side " than you think, 90% of our TV programs originate in the US, I probably know more of the issues than 80% of the American people, and I can probably read more than 75%. Says a lot for the education opportunities down there. Not one of Dubya's strong points. We see it all the time. What's wrong with outlawing handguns? What are you going to hunt with a handgun, with an effective range of 30 feet. I know what, another man. Handguns should be banned with the exception of cops and the military. Are you going hunting with a fully automatic assault rifle? No, you're going out to destroy something with it. A .273 Winchester is a hunting rifle, a M-16 isn't.
I never once said our gov't was any better than yours, it's probably worse actually, but I'm not blinded by one parties promises, and I won't vote for someone for 1 issue out of thousands. I'm sure the election will get solved the same as everything else in the states, in court, a bloodsucking lawyer pleading a case. That's what you guys do down there if you don't like something isn't it? Sue sue sue.
