Hi all. Today I was riding and on a landing my foot came off the peg and my toe caught the ground adn was drug for some feet. So my question is: Will nerf bars stop this problem, or is this their intended purpose? Will my feet just pass through the netting in an instance like that, or will it stop them?

Thanks,

jason

They will stop your feet from hitting the ground. Also they were designed to keep other racers tires from hitting you tires or feet

In my humble opinion, nerfs primary purpose is to prevent other rider's wheels from coming in on your legs or feet with a secondary benefit (?)
of catching one's foot if coming off the peg. The questionable benefit can also be a hazard of one's toe happens to become tangled in the webbing. Many times when one's foot or feet leave the pegs, it's due to coming off a jump with the knees locked rather than bent to absorb landing shock, in the same manner that bent elbows maintain control of the bars in the same situation. Having said that, My Graydon nerfs have sustained two direct hits recently; one from a 3/4 head- on with a dirt bike at aprox. 80 MPH combined speed, the other with another dirt bike who hit me at 90 deg. Neither hit caused the least damage to the nerfs except for a slight scratch on one of them. I did however, have to replace the frame on my quad after the first one
