Default Shifting Gears (Pretty Important)

Kawasaki made a series of bikes that shifted round robin..
1-2-3-4-n-1-2-3-4-n... round and round she goes.

The Honda ATX-200 was N-1-2-3-4.

I have been told that Yamaha used a round robin in a few of theirs too. All oldschool stuff, though. 70's and 80's models.

Definately old school......I would have to spend a lot of time on a bike/quad before I was comfortable with being able to shift from what I thought was almost high, 3rd in this case, but was actually 4th, and then you would shift into neutral, and possibly get flustered and shift into 1st.......hang on, probably going over the bars on one of those mistakes........

Simple. Think about climbing a really steep hill you need to down shift but you shift too many times and hit N now you're screwed and rolling backwards down the hill.

Main reason for the 1st N 2rd thing is so you don't downshift into N without meaning to.

Not all quads are 1 down 4 up. My wolverine shifts 5 up.

my first quad was a banshee with pipes...i did all my learning on it....actually when i got it it was the first time i had ever been on a bike or 4 wheeler

it got wrecked by a friend racing it so i got a blaster that had been modded and rode it and it was horrible so i picked up another banshee

as long as ur careful starting off on a yfz is not gonna be too bad....if it was a crotch rocket or a dirtbike then i would say yeah start off on somehting with less cc's and power

Honestly maddog I am not sure what I want yet. I have had my Wolvy for 3 years and I am just starting to get into putting mods into it. Right now I am pretty much just studying up on what will give me the most bang for my buck. If you have any suggestions I am all ears.
I read a little bit about the 446 big bore from 4 stroke tech. I just don't know if I want to go that route with the heavy engine mod or not. I think I might just go with a bunch of smaller things, pipe, filter, rejet, torque stuffer, and of course the warn 424 select. I would have more of a list, but I am still trying to figure out what I want. I have read some peoples signatures in here that have thirty different mods give of take a few on their Wolvy.
