the reason i say that, and others is simple, but odviously overlooked. i, and many would not want our kids in harms way. so, for myself, or others who may state that, is simply to say it better be such a reason, that we would put our own children at risk. I would hope the 2 kids of bushs would not inlist. they are not what the military would represent. simply that when a pres goes to war, the reason should be that great. so, if i was pres, i would have sent my kids to afganistan, but in no way iraq.
this is why people say that. its called value of human life. you should try to understand that!
now, as for people wanting to fight for there country. well, most in the national guard signed up for school funding, medical, and so on. they new the risks, and are dealing with it. in the past, there have been drafts. ( when your government makes you fight) becouse it seems you arent aware of such things from your statement. to state american military is from joining up, well, for now it is. in the past it has not always been.

now, would his ho's, i mean daughters being inlisted have made a differance? heck no, he would of got them out, just like he did for himself. its called money. see, people who's family have power, have that option. now, the people who actually fight for our country. they come from lower on the money tree. so, they have to fight when a moron desides to.
this is also why i cant name a pres who's children have fought in wars. i can name a few pres' who have fought though. just not ours now, he lied and dodged the war.

so, lets hope no draft is done, due to our men being overworked, and not in enough supply. i can tell you this, if there is a draft, i know of one man who's children wont be fighting. his name is george. I can also tell you, like in the past. the innercity's will go fast, and the middle class right behind them.

OFC I agree on most of your points here ..... I do have a beef with a president that has zero hours of combat under his belt, that is willing to send other into battle. That's my biggest quarrel. I expect my president to acknowledge the fact that he has never fought a war, not GWB's side stepping into "We must remove Saddam from power because he tried to kill my Daddy" That's chicken ****. And what does the rightwing do? .... they attack a proven veteran (Yes I know Kerry is just as moronic as baby Bush but atleast he has battles under his belt) and discredited his service record becuase he voiced his opinion after he served his country in a foregin land. A country were voicing ones opinion is a birth right. They chopped him down like AK-47's were doing to our young men out yonder. They propell Bush to hero status because he landed a jet on an aircraft carrier??, and the right along with the religious wings ate it up. And even though I'm the farthest thing from a left wing liberal I get catagorized as one because I'm willing to call Bush a freaking coward and an idiot, unworthy of such praise. But think what you will, history has a way of {weeding} (puff puff give) out good and bad decisions, made by men with power or atleast men that think they're in power. We the people have the power! never forget that.

 

So then i would be inclinded to believe from that statement you had problems with all military actions during clintons term? I mean after all he had ZERO HOURS OF COMBAT OR MILITARY PERIOD.
granted im no history major but im sure someone else could point out our other great leaders who had no combat experience themselves yet sent troops to do the fight.

Yeah i think after that i will stay with my previous assertation of Dumass (add the b in the middle)
I've been thru MEPS and have read the contacts of the various branches of the military. anyone who enlists Knows dam well what their duty is. whether its in the national gaurd or fulltime enlisted. the gaurd houses some of our best and brightest soldiers. That is why they are used.

In a general sense the better off people with other aspirations beyond lifetime soldiers enlist in the gaurd do their short active duty stint and then go one to do their schooling and make money in the private sector. so they used a tool available to them (military funds) and chose to make themselves availble to be called upon.

your whole argument for troops goin to war is like sayin a mcdonalds employee Didn't know they was gonna have to flip burgers. If, as you says Georges kids are not what we want in the military Why in the F*ck is it so important that he wouldnt send his kids to war, even though he would have done the same thing if they were enlisted?

focus on the parts you commented about. like, the general statement about his kids fighting. its a statement over any president sending his troops into battle. not his actuial kids, lmao! now, when your done( remember to read slower this time) scroll down to the part where i stated the enlisted are dealing with war. do you really think every enlist wants to go to war, or even thinks it might happen? expecally the national guard? they deal with it, just like the mcdonalds employees that deal with flipping burgers over a 150 degree stove.

by the way. yes, i did have a problem with clinton going to war( on a small level) he backed out when it got ugly. he tried flexing his muscle, and when it backfired, he ran. he is part of the reason our men are being hit constantly. terrorists do beleave that if you kill a few americans, they will run. the problem with this is, so does bush. he just does not see that we are sitting the with too few, too unprepared, and with no game plan.
