Armadillo Six Pack Rack...what fits in it???
#1
What is the model and name of the ice chest that fits in the Armadillo six pack rack? Or if anything else fits into the place where the ice chest rests. Thanks!

The Coleman "Take Six" type fits (flat top) and the best one is the Igloo flat top because the handle folds down into a groove rather than just laying at the side. Take a piece of copier paper to the store when you buy a cooler--it's the same footprint as the rack-- 8.5" x 11".

Mr. Blindside I would like to have this to say to you..... Happy, 1,000 TH POST!!!!!!
Its a sunny afternoon and we hit 70+ degrees here in Tulsa....dropped the top on the 96 Cobra and ran an errand (Spring Foot Fever).
I have a Six pack and Back Rack by Armadillo; it has a gas can and a place for a six pack cooler. I cant find a direct addy for Armadillo. They did tell me yrs ago when I bought it what the cooler make was to fit into the space but I had a soft old CD case that jammed tight and fit. Until the time it fell out about a year later on a very long ride around Angelina Forest S.E. Texas.
I have taken the rack with me several times shopping for the right fitting manufactered thing to serve as small tool box and or a cooler.and still have not found the one that fit good e-nuff.Thanks Shady Rascal, I have seen the Coleman coolers like mentioned above but not the correct size. I have renewed confidences now.
How about this....
A doubled walled insulated aluminum box with some kind of positive lactching lock. It would be a dry box or a cooler.
Semi-Rigid soft sided cooler with a waterproof interior that fits the rack tightly.
I am still looking for the manufactured ice chest too.
Thanks and hit me back with any funky ideas or tips.
Otter Boxes are good...Had one with industrial strength Velcro on my left front warning label which it fit over perfectly. I carried goggle wipes, lighter, reflective twist-ties,band-aids,pipe cleaners, couple of antacid packs, maybe a PowerBar,zip-ties,couple of bizness cards and a pen.
Hit somebody just right sometime and your an Instant Hero when you have a Pepcid or somethin similar!

So what you have is an Out-N-Back rack. Same coolers will fit, the opening is the same as the 6 pack rack. Anyplace with the small Igloo coolers will hook you up. Armadillo originally designed it for the coleman "take 6".

Yea; Out and Back Rack...shoulda made myself more clear. Its amazing how I can hit several sporting good and outdoor stores that dont have the model that I know is out there. I have tried off the beaten path places like Albertson's Grocery,Wal-Mart etc I will find one now that Shady has narrowed it down to Coleman Products.
Freaky too is Armadillo is not popping up on Google.
Thanks for the input and I am still watin to hear any clever modifications or riggin anyone has donw to a six pack type rack.
axe carrier, machete carrier...drill the blade and wing nut it to the rack...just dont let it land on you in a rollover! ETC ETC
