Tennessee must be a bad place for that. I'm from over in Carroll County, and we had the same thing happen about 2 years ago. I know they got caught, but I don't remember what happened to them. They also got caught by trying to sell a stolen bike to someone with the sense to check the VIN.

Man I'm sure glad I don't live in the USA. The justice system you have there is an embarrasment to the western world. Not to mention every Tom, Dick, and Harry can carry a weapon. Mind you our (Canadian) justice system is getting almost as pathetic as yours. I love the freedom our 2 countries have, but we need a justice system that doesn't favor the criminals.

SaMsOn,

You wonder why the criminal justice systems of the U.S. and Canada appear to be an embarrassment, just take a look at the leadership running both countries, "liberal socialists". Need I say more?

The right of the citizen's of this country to keep and bear arms has nothing to do with the problems that exist today in our criminal justice system. On the contrary statistics show that state's which allow, Tom, Dick, and Harry who are just plain old honest law abiding citizens, the ability to carry concealed have had a reduction in crime (murder, rape, assults, robbery). Those are the facts.

The mindset that the criminal has more rights then the victim is just one of the many false ideologies the liberal socialists have convinced many unthinking citizen's into believing. This is just one of the reasons why the criminal justice system appears to be failing. You need to look at what your leaders are espousing to and what they support and vote them out of office if you don't agree with their social ideology. The system is not failing. We are.

THATS WHY GEORGE BUSH JR. NEEDS TO BE ELECTED AS PRESIDENT!!
When it came time for that woman to be put to death for the brutal crime back in the 70's... a bunch of people were whining saying that she'd found religion... Im glad she found religion... EVERYBODY does when they are locked in prision for 20 years... DUH!!
Anyway, he took all the pressure from the POPE and everybody else, but DIDN'T back down, when it came down to it, SHE was guilty and that was her punishment!
ANOTHER ONE, That guy from Canada that was on death row for so long... all the publicity and pressure from the Canadian government... we stuck a needle in HIS arm too.. maybe the criminal should have thought about what country to do the crime in before he did it....
George Bush Jr.'s official response to some political activists group in Canada stating that they would Boycott Texas for tourism..
He said," So who cares if six people don't come to San Antonio each year?" "The man is guilty, he was tried and convicted, sentenced to death, now its time to carry out that sentence!"
President George Bush Jr.!!!!!!!!!!...

mudmachine,

George W. seemed to be waffleing somewhat on the firearms issue a few weeks back. I'm hoping it was just an indiscretion on his part of trying to be politically correct. I know he supported concealed carry in Texas and has been a proponent of the death penalty, which by the way does deter crime by never allowing a murderer back on the street to kill again.

As of now George W. is still my choice.

TreeFarmer,

You conveyed my sentiments exactly, but in a polite manner. Thank You.

Hey Samson, (son of Sam?) You abviously know NOTHING about guns and gun control. If you take away the the right for law-abiding persons to own guns in America, guess who will have the guns, CRIMINALS! HELLO MCFLY! Its the criminal element in society that uses weapons for more than self-defense. Heck, I cant remeber the last time my grandparents went out on a shooting spree (even though they own several weapons), nor can i remember the last time they were robbed, proudly displaying the fact that "THis household defends itself with a Smith + Wesson" sticker on the door and windows. What do you think a criminal would do if he had the choice between 2 houses? One with a known ARMED elderly couple or a house with middle aged, possibly unarmed couple? I bet said criminal would choose the unarmed home. Samson It is apparent which house he would go to, YOURS before MINE! In fact why not move here so I have a decoy! I would hate to actually be forced to defend myself or my family with a gun, so if your next door, I could defend you! (If i so desired..)
Good Day,
Roostking...

Guys I really have to say that I'm sorry that I made that post. I just re-read it and it does make me look like I hate the gool ol USA, when in fact that is not the case. But both our justice systems are pretty much a joke though. Even your death penalty is a joke. When someones about to commit murder, he's probably thinking to himself, if I get caught, I won't be put to death for about 10 to 20 yrs! and maybe by then the death penalty will be abolished. And just think how much tax payers $$$$ is be wasted by that wonderful plan. In China, once you get the Death penalty, its carried out right away. I wonder how much that bullet cost?

But I must say I totally disagree on your gun control issue. If I where a criminal and saw a house that had a sign saying "this house protected by a Smith @ Wesson" I would just wait until they where not home and go rob the place and take that Smith @ Wesson for myself. Then the next time he goes to rob a place, he's got that nice Smith @ Wesson tucked under his shirt when the owners of the house come home. He probably would panic and shoot the owners when they walked in.

Here in Canada, that criminal would never have gotten that gun, because the owners of the house didn't have one to steal. Then the next time he goes to rob a house, the owners come home and find this criminal and proceed to give him the beating of his life. But then the owners go to jail as well for assaulting the criminal. Thats our justice system at work. No one got killed, but the justice system probably gave the criminal a lesser sentence.

Most criminals get their guns by stealing them from honest citizens, or asking someone with a clean record to buy it for them. In Canada we have extremly strict gun laws, and violent crime with guns is FAR FAR lower than yours.

Hey RoostKing. If I come down and be your neighbour, can I use a baseball bat for protection if a thief happens by my place? Oh wait bad idea. I might get shot by the gun he stole from your house
