Transporting ATV's
#1
I recently saw an extended cab, short-bed full-size pickup hauling an ATV in the bed, and another suspended over the cab on some sort of rail which is bolted to the bed and extends up and over the cab. I didn't get a good look at it. Does anyone know of a company which makes these, or where i can get plans to have one made?

Giff, in the classifieds on atv mag. you will find another alternative by KW Marketing, web site at www.kartworld.com.. you can also type in atv on most any serach engines and find several companies that make these. good luck!

Thank's for the info, but I still can't find what I'm looking for. I like the idea of the rack that goes over the bed of the truck, but the one that carries two ATV's is for an 8' bed only, and mine is 6-1/2'. Any other ideas?

I think what your looking for is the "Tri-Sport ATV Carrier" made by R&R Custom Products in Nampa, Idaho. It costs $1,500.00 and fits long and short bed trucks. Phone number is (208) 466-0207.
If you have one, it is reviewed in the May 99 Dirt Wheels, and they also have an ad in the back of that mag. Looks real stout! Hope this helps.

I have 2 wheelers and a pop-up camper. I also have a 2 place trailer I can use when I don't use the camper. What I REALLY need is the Sport Utility Trailer, a camper with room for ATV's inside!!

This is a little off topic but has anyone checked out a truck bed cover called the VersaCap? it's a hard shell tonnou cover that opens up so an atv/snowmobile can fit inside. Seen it on a coworker's truck, pretty slick. I ordered one.

I built a deck for a Sonoma shortbox out of wood and plywood, it raises the quad to 2" from the top of the box rail, and makes about 12" or so of storage space underneath the deck in which I can fit all my camping/riding gear and a bbq and the ramps and tarps for when it rains and extra rear tires and you get the picture. It cost me around 75$ US for the wood, screws, drill rental, a tailgate lock and an afternoon of screwing. I have pics if you want a couple!
