I am looking to buy a new helmet before our riding season gets under way here in the coming weeks. Lightwieght is a must for me as I have some nagging neck problems from one of my Dirtbike crashes back in the 80's. Do any of you have any reccomendations for a good full face helmet that is reasonably lightwieght.

For outright safety Simpson has a liner in their helmets that can be deformed in the same area mutiple times. Other liners of styrofoam deform once and remain deformed, called BeadAll. So, if you have a wreck and your head hits the same area twice...not good. I believe Bell "copied" this, but don't know what they call it. Simpson's composite helmets are very strong and very light. I think their site is www.simpsonraceproducts.com

I don't know what my helmet weighs, but I have a Lazer MX5. I like it because it has a removable and washable liner, looks nice, and the visor is adjustable for when the sun is in your eyes.

Kagey,
I wear a Shoei..I can't recall the model designation. Both the Shoei and the Arai use carbon fiber in their shells which cut down weight without sacrificing strength.I prefer the Shoei because it seems to fit me the better of the two. Both brands have removable inserts for washing.
