The only time I don't wear a helmet is when I'm putting around the yard doing work, because if I were on a lawn tractor I wouldn't be wearing one either. Riding at high speeds/aggressively without a helmet is just plain stupid. But hey, it's your choice. Just to throw this out there. About 5 years ago my brother was putting around the yard on his 250R trike when he grazed a small tree (more like a bush) going about 5mph with no helmet. That little graze resulted in 16 staples from his hair-line to the back of his head. It doesn't take much.

(Here is another one of the stupidist topic's that garbages up this quality ATV forum)
I'm 30 years old and my buddies don't wear their helmits so I'm only now considering buying a helmit.
It's just as dumb as one guy stating People dont need a bigger quad a mid-size quad is plenty big enough, unless it's a maco thing.

I don't wear one. I understand the risks, I'm aware of the 240 atv deaths from 1982-2006 (24 years) in my state (pop approx 9 mil), I believe a helmet offers protection from cranial injury,,,, and I CHOOSE not to. A helmet is a condom for the head. It protects while taking away enjoyment. If I engage in extra-risky riding ( ), I might choose to wear one.
If you want to wear one, fine. If I don't, you'll have to find a way to live with that because I should (and do) have a right to choose.

Then consider the risks from wearing a helmet. http://usff.com/hldl/report/3rdEditiona.html#R302
Then maybe consider how well helmets really work. http://usff.com/hldl/hoax/pan196.html

See,,, I would never do that without a helmet in the first place unless I was only planning on leaving the ground by no more than a foot or 2. And even then I wouldn't make a habit of it. But that's based on my risk tolerance.... Somebody else may be different.

Thanks again for the rest of us. If you get hurt it hurts us all. Like I have said to you before. We apparently need more laws. GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

How does it hurt you if I get hurt? If you're referring to stats, it won't matter if I'm wearing a helmet or not.... It will still count as an atv accident. Find somebody else to hate and stop wasting it on me.
