Lessons You've Learned The Hard Way.
I got a 2 for 1 lesson. I was trying to pull 3 big utes on a trailer with my Wrangler. I was in traffic, when someone pulled out in front of me. The Jeep simply couldn't stop the load and I went careening toward stopped traffic. I swerved into the ditch to avoid rear-ending the car in front of me. I never actually hit anything but the swerving motion snapped the straps holding the first quad on the trailer. It flipped off the trailer and landed face down and bent a little bit of everything.
Lessons learned: Don't tow more than you can handle. And those little 1000lb. tie downs are not enough to hold your quad on your trailer during emergency manuvers let alone an impact. I now only use 3000lb ratchet straps.
Let's hear some other lessons learned the hard way.

1. You can't fix stupid. (Ron White) But words to live by. I have had this proved many times.
2. Watch in front of you, not behind. You are already past that tree behind you.
3. Along your line. It is not how much you can pull as how much you can stop. I can pull my sled trailer with my atv but it is darn hard to stop.

OIown12 - #2 is truely hilarious - if youve never been staring down the business end of a squirrel concider yourself lucky!! to funny!!!
here is mine - never - and i repeat - NEVER tell the cops that you where to drunk to drive so you where calling for a ride and if they have a problem with it then arrest me. I guess they where nice enough to give me a elevated view of the squad car before the slammed my happy @$$ on the hood to make sure all the nasty oxygen was out of my lungs, then they gave me matching bracelets and a room for the night with a lovely catered breakfast consisting of one green banana - wish i was making it up - at least it was long enough ago that i can laugh about it now - actually it was pretty funny.
