Default Getting ready for snow

I have a Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4 and want to plow snow this year. This machine does not have a low gear. Some people say I have to have low gear to plow snow and others say it's not needed. Trying to get a few opinions, do I need low gear or can I get the job done without it?

First welcome to the forum now as to you question, Your machine is belt drive and not having a low gear will case tranny issues such as extreem pully wear. Now with that said yes you can plow with a Scrambler but I would not reccomend it!

Pretty much what the dodge guy said. Would be fun to go out & pack it down though.

Welcome to the forum tjpolaris, and +1 on what they said. The Scrammys are great quads but not geared for work. If the snow doesn't pile up you may be okay, but a Sportsman with the same engine will probably push 10 times the snow in low gear. I say go for it, but be careful not to burn the belt. A clutch kit would help for work but it wooldn't be as good for riding.
