Take it to the water cooler guys this is the Polaris Forum and I'm sick and tired of hearing people argue and bicker about the election. It's done the votes are counted the winner is the winner and so on and so forth. Mods lock this one up and pitch it!

The fact that you are on a watchdog group for the Second Amendment makes me feel all warm and cozy, but I am afraid yours and my interpretation of the Second amendment may differ as you seem to support the Clinton Law of 1994. And I did look it up.
Obama says, "National legislation will prevent other states' flawed concealed-weapons laws from threatening the safety of Illinois residents." David Mendell, "Democratic hopefuls vary a bit on death penalty," Chicago Tribune, February 20, 2004.
And I am supposed to feel good that you don't believe Obama can do it "even if he wants to"?
Given recent events, I am not overflowing with confidence in the American people's ability to judge much of anything and in spite of people's "Rambo" fiction; I do not see the 70 million gun owners rising up unfortunately. This has not happened in any other country in which strict gun controls have taken the firearms away from the citizenry.</end quote></div>
Those other countries were not protected by anything like the constitution......
The states already hold 99% of the cards on gun laws..... trust me I live in NY and we already have all the laws that you are scared Obama might instill....
Whether or not I agree with the AWB is immaterial..... I was pointing out that it is likely the worst thing Obama could do to any gun laws.
And if you feel that American's will not rise up when they are pushed, what do you call the election we just saw? It was no fluke it was a statement by the American majority in bigger numbers than any election in history.
I think you are underestimating the American people......... I believe in America and I believe that sanity will prevail when it comes to any amendment.

ss97,
Actually, I am pretty sure England had the right to keep and bear arms in their founding documents. Keep in mind the only reason our Constitutional Rights as outlined in the Second Amendment survived is due to a split decision of 5 to 4. Had there been one more liberal judge on the court, we would have lost this right. Barack Obama will appoint several Supreme Court Judges, so our "rights" are still in danger because the Heller decisions left open the option of "reasonable restrictions". Gun owners and legislators will have no recourse to a restrictive interpretation.
I live in Missouri where we can buy anything over the counter without permission from anyone. Telling me that the worse they can do is make it as bad as it is in New York is not too comforting. Here the Sheriff is required to issue a CCW permit if you meet the criteria; he has NO discretion and the permit is good statewide.
Going to the polls when there is an election is not what I would call an "uprising".
No, I do not "underestimate" the American people as is evidenced by this election.

The Constitution works fine when the people get involved. The problem now day is people don't want to get involved. And as long as people sit back and rely on someone to do the right thing we will lose our rights.

I should have known better than to start a topic about politics, about as bad as oil preferences or religion! AINT worried about guns, already have my Colt match target AR-15,Bulgarian AK-47 and couple old Garands and carbines AND plenty of ammo for a small war! If any of you are worried about the Democrats,JUST move to TEXAS and we will make a stand,Plus with the Castle Law now I dont even need my cc license, can carry in your vehicle, same as in your home!

Rowe is obviously the only one on this thread that remembers that this is a POLARIS forum! If you want to talk politics, go to a political site and rant all you like! Since I live in Iowa, with the "first in the nation" caucus, I've had to listen to this stuff wall to wall for over a year now...let's get back to what we all love to talk about, Polaris quads!
