TIMING
#11
Glad to see you got it. I was thinking it had to be something in your ignition, a bad ground or loose wire or something. I have had to adjsut my crab slides for idle, so you cna do it that way. Let us know if you tell a difference with that advancer.

It's been my experience that Banshee motors have done well with from 4 degrees Adv. to 7 degress Adv. This is on motors that may be ported, but are only seeing upper 8's for RPM's. I would also reccomend that the maximum adv. that you run with pump gas be limited to 4 degrees, and STAY on TOP of your jetting. Getting a tad towards the lean side with more advance is a ready recipe for detonation. Pocket shape(combustion) influences this as well, wider flatter pockets require less ignition advance. Each motor has been different, so a little test and tune is necessary. As with everything, I reccomend taking notes of each change and try to test it each time, timed runs on dry asphalt is the best.
