300ex Front Sprocket?
#1
I put a 14 toothe front sprocket on my EX, and because of it's bigger diameter I cant fit that metal chain guide between the engine case and the chain. Do I need to put it back on or can I run without it? Any feedback would be appreciated big time!

That metal thing is a case saver. It's designed to take the force if you throw your chain. If you want to run a 14 tooth your gonna have to take it off, or have it milled down to fit. I run a 14 on my 300EX without the case saver. I've gotten into the habit of checking chain tension and sprocket wear before and after every ride. Life is full of risks!!! When I replace my rear sprocket I'm gonna get a 35 or 36 tooth and put the 13 tooth and case saver back on. Have you ridden your quad yet with the 14 on it? Makes a nice improvement.
