I just bought an '87 Banshee with a burned up clutch. I haven't been on a quad in a few years and need to know who makes the best clutch nowadays. The bike will be used for dune/drag racing. Also, can someone elaborate on the Superior Sleeve unit with straight cut gears and the option of using an "overdrive" gears ratio?

I've had very good luck with the factory concepts clutch plates. i also know some people who use the fzr1000 plates in their banshee's. I'm not not really to keen on barnettes. I've had nothing but bad luck with them. Stock are real good also. The straight tooth gears create less binding in the transfer from the crank to the clutch basket. They provide a smoother and more reliable transfer of the power from gear to gear. I'm not real sure about the override gears though. An override tranny allows clutchless shifting but the override gears that supperior sleeve sell are far the straight toothe gears. Perhaps ohton can tell us a little about this????

How can I get in touch with Factory Concepts? Do they have a website? What about the Toomey clutch kits?

I dont know if they have a site or not. i will say this though: there clutch plates are basicly stock plates. I thinkthe stock plates are very good. I think magic racing may carry the factory concepts plates. I have heard some good about the toomey kits but never used them.

I don't recommend the Toomey kits. I have been through two of them in the past six months.

I use Maxim 70, 80 and 85w oil and that didn't help.

I now have a Barnett clutch with Powerplus Heavy oil. So far,
