Default muffler bearings?!

It's a little bearing in the exhaust port that spins and regulates the exhaust flow so that the pink powerband dosn't kick in to early and rip your arms off.
hahaha

It's more complicated than just a bearing. Two 1.5" wide sealed bearings are pressed into a muffler 1/2 inch apart. Inside the bearings are 1" wide stainless steel fans...which we will call a vortex. The first vortex spins based on exhaust flow. The 1st vortex is connected too the second vortex via 2 gears that alter gearing too a 2/1 ratio. This effectively has the 2nd vortex turning 2X the speed of exhaust flow....drawing spent gases from the combustion chamber for more efficient / clean combustion process. This mod can easily make a quiet aftermarket pipe perform at least as well as a loud, straight thru design. A 15% increase with the addition of this mod is easily attainable.

A more reliable system is too have 1 muffler bearing (with vortex) in the muffler wired into the wiring harness /w an 02 sensor. This set-up works off of engine rpm and always keeps the vortex spinning at speed for optimum power. 20% power increase , but 100 bucks more .

Default muffler bearings?!

Going to grease my muffler bearings this weekend, do I use elbow grease, where do I get the left handed monkey wrench, needed to remove them?

What about my dual exchaust, should I rotate my muffler bearings?

Default muffler bearings?!

Actually its not ATV related but muffler bearings do exist. I run a Atv/Truck,Car acc. shop and there is a Import muffler with a turbine in it that does have a bearing. We were making a joke about muffler bearings and then i found this exhaust i couldn't stop laughing about it.

there are actual muffler bushings in a new buell and firebolt exhaust, they are used for the butterfly that opens up the exhaust to buypass the muffler for some of the rpm range. true and if you look up to buy a bushing then you would be looking in the bearing section so they are considered close to the same......
