4-stroke's suck!!

kingkevin: You are sadly mistaken your RD will get smoked by any new 600 sport bike never mind a 750 that will anihilate it. I had an CB 450,RD 350,RD 400, GS1000, FJ1100, 750Turbo and a FZR1000. The RD was a great bike and back in the day it would hold it's own against 70's and early 80's 750's but the new bikes are so much faster it isn't funny. Don't get me wrong I loved the old 2 stroke bikes Kawi 750 Triple, RG 500 Gamma was a great bike. But a new GSXR 750 could drag that rd400 on the ground behind it faster than it could go on it's own!

Give me my choice of pipes for the RD400 and let me port the cylinders on it and I gaurantee there is not a stock 600 bike that could outrun it in the 1/4. Of course it wouldnt be stock anymore. It is hard to compete with the new streetbikes today unless you already have one for sure. 4-strokes dont really suck, they do make good utility motors

Piped and ported 10 second quarters I don't know about that! You would be hard pressed to get an RD400 into the 10's with just a pipe and porting. All the new 600's are either high 10's or low 11's in the Quarter. The RD 400 is a 14 Second Quarter bike (Stock of Course). I had a guy say the same thing about his Kawi 750 Triple telling me it could beat all the new bikes when I had a 750 Turbo and I'll tell you it was not even close I wasted it. And now the new 600's are just as fast as that old Turbo.
