Default Thinking about a drag ATV

Hey Beachman,

I went up to the drags again tonight, and did a little inquiring about the track.
The official length is 375 feet.
Tonights winner was a tick over 85mph, and he pretty much dominated the field.

I took a good look at most of the Banshee's that were there.
They all were "cleaned up" stock chassis's, with minimal chromolly tubing added, and extended swingarms with a racing axle. Most were running alky.
I didn't see anything that was all that dramatic.

The winner was supposedly running one of the 420 cheetah engines.

If that's the case you could build a Banshee similar to those, or even a bit better, for 10k easily. 3k for a decent used banshee and that leaves 7k for a swingarm, engine mods and other changes. I would think that would be managable.

I'm sure a 250r could also manage it but from what I read they would need more custom engine work to get the same kind of power as a 400-450cc banshee. So unless you can fabricate yourself it would probably cost more.

sounds pretty attainable. Did they run ET or just heads up and if they did do they get time slips? Either way that 7mm might be a decent ride for them guys then, if not i wouldnt go less then a 10 or 12mm cheetah. Better to really kick their a*s then to just nudge them.

Dabeachman,

They run heads up.
You have to beat your opponent twice, then advance.
They do provide slips for each run, and time and speed is announced to the crowd.
